Moss Point Soccer Star Jamayl Ducksworth Signs with Waldorf University in Iowa.

Moss Point, MS – Moss Point High School is proud to announce that standout soccer player Jamayl Ducksworth has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer at Waldorf University in Iowa. Ducksworth, a two-year team captain and record-breaking striker/midfielder, will take his talents to the next level after an outstanding high school career.


"Jamayl has been a dynamic player and a true leader for our program," said Jeramey Anderson, Head Coach of the Moss Point High School Men’s Soccer Program. "His dedication, work ethic, and ability to make plays on the field have set a new standard for Moss Point soccer. His impact goes beyond goals and assists – he has helped build a culture of excellence within our team. We are incredibly proud of him and can't wait to see him continue to thrive at the next level."


During his time at Moss Point, Ducksworth made history by setting a new school record with 17 goals in a single season in 2024. He has also been named to the All-District Sun Herald All-South Team, scored an additional 33 goals during his senior year, and was selected for the 2025 Coast All-Star Soccer Match further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier talent.


Waldorf University Head Coach Joseph Tibbs expressed his enthusiasm for Ducksworth’s addition to the program.


"We are beyond excited to welcome Jamayl to Waldorf University," said Tibbs. "His skill, leadership, and passion for the game will be an incredible asset to our team. We believe he has the potential to make an immediate impact, and we can’t wait to see him in action on the field."


Delana James, Athletic Coordinator for Moss Point School District, emphasized the district’s commitment to fostering excellence in athletics. "We continue to expect excellence from our student-athletes and take pride in the culture we create for them to thrive. Jamayl is a perfect example of what happens when talent meets dedication, and we look forward to seeing his continued success."


Beyond his athletic achievements, Ducksworth plans to pursue a degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing at Waldorf University, combining his passion for soccer with academic excellence.


The Moss Point community, coaches, and teammates all join in celebrating this milestone and look forward to following Jamayl’s journey at Waldorf University.
